Barbara Jean Poole

Barbara Jean Poole, age 73, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.

Born on August 11, 1953, Barbara was the daughter of the late Lloyd Moore and Nellie Ledford Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Poole; three sisters, Dorothy Hege, Margaret Morgan, and Kathy Clodfelter; one brother, Buford Moore; and her grandson, Tyler Poole.

Barbara was a loving, kind, and caring woman who devoted much of her life to the people and causes that meant the most to her. She enjoyed sewing, participating in book clubs and community meetings, gardening, and helping plan weddings and special occasions. She especially loved getting in the car and taking a drive, enjoying the simple moments along the way.

Barbara was a natural caretaker who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those around her. She loved her family deeply and was considered a true rock within her family. Her compassion, generosity, and desire to make the world a better place touched the lives of many. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her willingness to help others, and the love she so freely gave to her family and friends.

Those left to cherish Barbara's memory include her two sons, Neil Poole (Holly) and Chris Poole; grandchildren, Alexis Poole, Jordan Poole (Alexis Mace), Michaela Jones (Ryan), Miria Phillips (Dalton), and Isreal Poole; two brothers, Hank Moore (Marsha) and James Moore (Angie); one sister, Vickie Morgan (Billy); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

In keeping with Barbara's wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.

Barbara's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered and cherished for years to come.
