Arvin McGlaspy Gibson

Arvin McGlaspy Gibson, 85, of Nebo, North Carolina, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, July 08, 2022 at his home.

He was born on October 19, 1936 to the late Lewis Gibson and Jessie Jones Gibson.

Arvin retired from Condrey Heating and Air following many years of service. He enjoyed listening to southern gospel music and working in his woodworking shop. An avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and NASCAR, Arvin followed them faithfully. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time with his family. Arvin honorably served in the United States Army. Best of all, he was saved and ready to meet the Lord.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Dixon Gibson; two sons, Dwayne Gibson (Janine) and Gary Gibson (Brenda); three grandchildren, Jordan Gibson, Ross Gibson (Savannah), and Jasmine Kirkus (Jacob); two great grandchildren, Tucker Gibson and Lana Gibson; and two sisters, Evelyn England and Hazel Arrington.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at McDowell Memorial Park with Rev. Bruce Ward officiating.
