Arturo Alexander Garcia

Arturo Alexander Garcia, 19, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at his residence surrounded by family and friends after an illness.

He was born in McDowell County on September 9, 2007. Alex was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church. He was a 2026 graduate of McDowell Academy for Innovation and was always volunteering in the community. He enjoyed drawing, music, and watching his brothers play baseball. Alex will be remembered for his amazing smile.

He is survived by his parents, Arturo and Mariana Garcia; three siblings, Geovanny Garcia, Axel Garcia, and Elina Garcia; paternal grandfather, Juan Garcia; maternal grandparents, Marina Ramirez and Martin Cortes; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Marta Mirilla Aguilar.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Beam Celebration Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church with Father Innocent Amasiorah officiating. Burial will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.

Arturo Alexander García, de 19 años y residente de Marion, falleció el martes 13 de octubre de 2026 en su domicilio, rodeado de familiares y amigos, tras una enfermedad.

Nació en el condado de McDowell el 9 de septiembre de 2007. Alex era miembro de la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles. Se graduó en 2026 de la McDowell Academy for Innovation y siempre participaba como voluntario en la comunidad. Le gustaba dibujar, la música y ver a sus hermanos jugar béisbol. Alex será recordado por su hermosa sonrisa.

Le sobreviven sus padres, Arturo y Mariana García; dos hermanos, Geovanny García, Axel García una hermana y Eliana García; su abuelo paterno, Juan García; sus abuelos maternos, Marina Ramírez y Martín Cortés; y numerosos tíos, tías y primos.

Le precedió en la muerte su abuela paterna, Marta Mirilla Aguilar.

La familia recibirá a los amigos el viernes 16 de octubre de 2026, de 5:00 a 8:00 horas, en el Beam Celebration Center.

La misa de cuerpo presente se celebrará el sábado 17 de octubre de 2026 a las 14:00 horas en la Iglesia Católica Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, oficiada por el Padre Innocent Amasiorah. El sepelio tendrá lugar a continuación en el cementerio Murphy’s Chapel.
