Anthony Thomas Moran

Anthony Thomas Moran, affectionately known as “Anthill,” 33, of Nebo, passed away unexpectedly in a tragic motorcycle accident on the morning of Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

He was born in Valdese on August 27, 1991 to Michael Anthony Moran and Lori Elaine Moran.

Anthony worked in the custom cabinet business alongside his father, Michael, who loved him very much and taught him everything he knew. A man of many passions, Anthony had a love for anything with wheels, with a particular fondness for his motorcycle. His adventurous spirit led him to enjoy the great outdoors, where he spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and gardening. Anthony and his dad shared a special bond on fishing trips to Hazel Creek at Fontana Lake. Anthony often said, “The future is promised to no one, so live everyday like it’s your last.”

Above all, Anthony cherished his daughter, loving her more than life itself. His devotion to his entire family shone brightly, as he made it a priority to show them how much they meant to him. He also made sure they knew of his unwavering faith, expressing confidently that he was 100% certain he would go to Heaven. This assurance has provided his family with great comfort.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Jeannette Keenan, and his maternal grandfather, Elmer Clark.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lylah Grace Moran; his parents, Mike and Lori Moran; two sisters, Cortney Snyder (Nathan) and Tiffany Moran; niece, Ivy Snyder; nephew, Camden Moran; maternal grandmother, Louise Clark; aunt, Kristen Keenan; uncles, Matt Clark (Holly) and Roy Clark (Anissa); and cousins, Evan, Max, Tabitha, and Charlie Clark.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Pinnacle Baptist Church, located at 664 Pinnacle Church Road in Nebo. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Pastor Mark Hollifield and Pastor Rob Waddle. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
