Anthony Simon Franklin

Anthony Simon Franklin, 33, of Newland, North Carolina, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022.

He was born in Crossnore on February 07, 1989 to Alvin Marshall Phillips and Amanda Sue Franklin Ivey.

Anthony was an automotive mechanic and obtained an Associate degree from McDowell Technical Community College. He loved God and will be remembered for his strong faith. Anthony was loving, giving, and courageous. He was also talented and gifted with whatever he set out to do. He had a passion for racing motorcycles and four wheelers. Anthony was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Simon and Hazel Franklin.

In addition to his parents, he leaves behind his daughter who was the light of his world, Madison Reese Franklin; his brother, Adam Marshall Phillips (Jennifer McKee); two nieces, Olivia and Vivian Phillips; aunts and uncles, Leisa O’Mara, Suzie Pittman (Phillip), Steve Franklin (Nancy), and Doug Franklin (Deb); and many cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 09, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church, 1539 Jonas Ridge Highway, Newland, NC 28657 with Rev. Dr. Phil Murdock and Pastor Dustin Hughes officiating.
