Alvin Dwight Lytle

     On September 10, 2026, a man with a special heart and love for life, took wings and left this earth. Alvin Lytle was met with a tumultuous reunion with family, friends and loved ones, who preceded him to a place we call Heaven.

     Alvin’s life was filled with adventures involving hard work, grief, traveling, and a love for his family, friends, nature and the land. His work life took him away from the mountains and land he loved, but gave him knowledge and insight into other lives and worlds, which he appreciated greatly.

     Alvin loved to hunt. He and his dad were avid coon hunters. He loved to fish with his grandpa, who took many camping trips with the family. And when he rode his motorcycle, you could hear him coming for miles.

     In later years, Alvin returned to the mountains and land he loved and worked in the landscaping, lawn maintenance and nursery industries. He finally returned to his roots of farming and did this on his ancestral lands. He was happy and wanted to share his knowledge and experience to anyone who was interested.

     He was and old soul in an earthly body. Now he will enjoy his new wings, ancestral land and loved ones forever. Alvin was born into a hard-working, God fearing and nature loving family. He learned from an early age that life is special and had many lessons to teach. Alvin was fortunate to have been able to do things he enjoyed and teach others as he journeyed along.

     Alvin’s working life included that of a sawyer, lumber grader, landscaper, nursery man, lawn maintainer, and finally a farmer. As you can see, each one built on the other, allowing him to move with nature and his love for it. He had a special gift for and with the land which allowed him to be where his heart truly was. He loved teaching others of this love and the old ways that were passed on to him from elders, grandparents, and life itself. His goal was to build a school to be better able to pass this knowledge and wisdom on to others for their survival and benefit.

     His legacy is the seed that he planted in each and every one. If you nourish it, water it, love it, grow it into the specialty it is, and pass it onto others, you are fulfilling his dream and creating the legacy he left.

     The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2026, at Cherry Springs Memorial Park in Old Fort.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
