Christopher Chad Davis, 42, died Monday, May 1, 2017 after battling Leukemia for more than a decade. Chad is the son of Marty and Paulette Davis and Debra and Roger Queen. He leaves behind his parents, his beloved Grandmom Elsie Shurson, his sister Rosalind Davis, two nephews Davis and Aidan Withers, brother Madison Queen and niece Kylee Queen. Chad has a large extended family and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Mildred Davis, his maternal grandfather, Clarence Autrey and his Aunt, Linda Davis.
Chad had a heart for serving others and regularly volunteered with church and community activities, as well as his local fire department. He attended Biltmore Church where mission opportunities took him to Guatemala, New York and South Carolina. He also served as the game director for the AWANA program at Grassy Branch Church where the children all loved him.
Chad graduated Cum Laude from Appalachian State University with a degree in Building Sciences. He was outdoors as much as possible, either snowboarding, riding his motorcycles, golfing or enjoying the beach. He is a self taught musician, playing several stringed instruments. His gregarious personality made him popular everywhere he went. He rode fast, played hard, lived large and loved deeply. His courageous and unwavering fight with Leukemia has been an inspiration to all who knew him. He will be missed beyond words.
A 'Celebration of Life service' will be held Sunday, May 7th at Grassy Branch Baptist Church, 499 Riceville Road, in Asheville. Visitation will begin at 2 with the service following at 4.
